Rules & Regulations
of the
Grande View Swim & Tennis Club
The following constitute the Rules and Regulations of the Grande View Swim & Tennis Club, (the “Club”). These Rules and Regulations may be altered, amended and modified at any time and from time to time by the Board of Directors of the Club. All Members of the Club and their respective family members and guests shall abide by and comply with all of the following Rules and Regulations.
POOL RULES
1. Members are limited to 2 guests per family membership. Guests are limited to 3 visits during the summer season. Two
non-resident guests are allowed per family membership.
2. Use of the pool facilities at the Club at any time is at the swimmer’s own risk.
3. Swimming is permitted only during the Pool hours: Monday-Sunday 8:00 am – 8:00 pm. Nighttime, after dark, pool use is not allowed. Changes to this schedule may be made by the Club Director as necessary.
4. Minors under the age of 14 must be accompanied by their parents or under the supervision of a responsible adult 18 years of age or older. Children under the age of 7 shall require the presence of a parent or guardian.
5. Showers are required prior to entering the pool.
6. Glass objects, drinking glasses, sharp objects, food and tobacco products are not permitted in the
pool area. No alcoholic beverages are allowed on or within the pool area.
Food is allowed in designated areas only. Any food that drops to the ground must be washed off with a hose immediately.
7. All swimmers must wear bona fide swimming attire. Cut-offs, dungarees, thongs and Bermuda
shorts are not considered appropriate swimwear.
8. Children who are not potty trained are required to wear plastic pants under their swimsuits (or
similar wear) when entering the pool. All children must be properly dressed in swimming attire at
all times. Children in diapers are not allowed in the pool. Children must be accompanied
to the restrooms by an adult member to ensure the facilities are left clean.
9. Running, ball playing, noisy or hazardous activity will not be permitted in the pool area. Pushing, dunking and dangerous games are not permitted. Climbing the fence is strictly prohibited.
10. All members including children must use the gate key to enter the pool. Members who let non members in, are subject to having their pool membership suspended.
11. GVST is a family oriented Club. Members, or their guests, who behave inappropriately are subject to having their membership suspended.
12. Radios may only be used at low volume or with earphones. The Club Director mayprohibit radios and other music devices on or within the pool facilities.
13. All persons using the pool furniture are required to cover the furniture with a towel when usingsuntan lotions.
14. All persons using the pool area are urged to cooperate in keeping the area clean by properly
disposing of towels, cans, trash, etc. Food on the ground must be washed off immediately toprevent pest problems. There are no janitorial services for the pool area.
15. Saving chairs for people absent from the pool area is not permitted.
16. Private parties may be held in the pool area by reservation only. Reservations may be made by
calling the Swim & Tennis Manager or emailing [email protected]
17. Flotation devices are permitted for non-swimming children up to the age of five years. Any non-swimming
children must be accompanied in the water by their parent or adult guardian. Pool toys
such as balls, water guns, rings, air mattresses, etc. are permitted at the discretion of the Swim &
Tennis Manager dependent on the number of people in the pool and the manner in which the toys
are used. Tire inner tubes are NOT permitted. Any toys or towels left at the pool will be discarded.
18. The throwing of balls, Frisbees, wet clothes, etc. is not permitted at any time in the pool area.
19. Lifeguards, if any, shall be obeyed by all pool users at all times. Lifeguards, if any, have the
authority to enforce all pool rules and supervise the general conduct of pool users. Failure to
obey or abide by lifeguard directives shall be means for suspension or expulsion from the club.
20. Only children under the age of five (5) may utilize the baby pool.
TENNIS RULES
1. The rules of Tennis of the U.S.T.A and its Code of Conduct shall apply at all times, except when in
conflict with the local rules or with any of the rules herein.
2. Players without a pre-arranged game are encouraged to come to the tennis courts where the
Swim & Tennis Director will assist in forming matches. The group captain must give his or her
name and membership number and the names in his or her group.
3. At the end of their playing period, players must promptly relinquish their court to the next players.
Once a Member is off the court, the Member may sign up for the next available court time.
4. All courts will be reserved in one or one-half hour blocks (except for certain times designated by
the Swim and Tennis Director when singles will possibly be eliminated.
5. To allow equitable play on all courts, members must play on the assigned court only. Switching
courts is not permitted. Only members can play in club tournaments.
6. Proper tennis attire as determined by the Swim and Tennis Director is required at all times.
Colors are permitted. Regulation tennis shoes are required.
7. Proper tennis etiquette should be observed at all times. Excessive noise, racquet throwing or
profanity will not be permitted on the courts, or in the area of the courts, at any time. Any
activities such as roller-skating, biking, skate boarding are strictly prohibited.
8. Use of the tennis courts and facilities at the Club shall at all times be subject to the control of the
Club’s Swim and Tennis Director and his or her assistants. The Swim and Tennis Director shall
determine suitability of the tennis courts for play. Courts will be closed when necessary for
maintenance operations or when dictated by safety considerations or by reason or adverse
weather conditions as determined by the Swim and Tennis Director in his or her sole discretion.
9. The Swim and Tennis Director is authorized to implement rules as may be necessary during peak
periods of play and tournaments, including, without limitations:
a. Junior payers shall only be permitted in a court if available and not in use by adults;
b. Courts may be reserved for tennis instruction at all times, except during tournaments and
exhibitions;
c. Players may secure only one reservation time per day and cannot make additional
reservations for members of their family or friends unless courts are available same day.
GENERAL CLUB RULES
1. No alcoholic beverages shall be permitted on or served within the Clubhouse, the pool areas or
the tennis courts of the Club or on any other portions of the Club’s property.
2. Developer shall have the right to utilize all portions of the Clubhouse during normal business
hours in connection with its sale of lots within the Development.
3. Animals and pets are not allowed on or within the Clubhouse or within the pool or tennis areas of
the Club; provided, however, seeing eye-dogs may accompany those Members or properly
introduced guests who are in need of special assistance.
4. Automobiles parked on or within the Club property must be parked within the area designated for
parking. All “NO PARKING’ and “HANDICAP” restrictions shall be observed. Vehicles shall not
be parked in the driveway or at the entrance of the Clubhouse unless an attendant is on duty.
Posted speed limits shall be observed. Vehicles left unattended on any of the Club property for
more than 24 hours are subject to being towed at the expense of the owner thereof.
5. The playing of cards or other games are permitted; however, the Board of Directors shall have
the power to suppress, limit and prohibit all games which, in their opinion may be calculated to
bring the Club into disrespect, interfere with the proper use of the Club by all other members,
interrupt the harmony and operation of the Club or jeopardize the Club’s business license.
6. Except for pre-announced stipulated periods and for special events to be officially announced,
children under 14 years of age are not allowed in the Clubhouse (other than areas designated for
their use) unless accompanied by a responsible adult.
7. All Members will be held responsible for the conduct of their guests, their children and their
children’s guest while on Club property and for their adherence to all of the Rules and
Regulations of the Club. Each Member shall be responsible and reimburse the Club or third
parties for any damage to Club property or to the property o others caused by such Member’s
guests, the Member’s children or their children’s guests. Members may be disciplined for any
violation of these Rules and Regulations by their children or their children’s guests.
8. The Swim and Tennis Director shall have the right to require any Member and his or her guests to
leave the Clubhouse and any of the Club property due to conduct, which, in the opinion of the
Swim of such Swim and Tennis Director, is unbecoming or disorderly.
9. Controlled Substances (as defined by state and federal laws), other than those prescribed by a
physician for medial reasons, are not permitted on the Club property.
10. The Membership Directory may not be used by any Member for commercial or charitable
purposes, nor given to a non-member for any purpose.
11. The Board of Directors may enact dress codes mandating and/or prohibiting certain types of
dress within all or certain portions of the Clubhouse.
12. No performance by entertainers or use of the Clubhouse for any special function shall be
permitted without the prior approval of the Swim and Tennis Director.
13. Firearms and ammunition are not permitted in the Clubhouse or anywhere else on Club property.
14. The facilities of the Club are for the exclusive use, accommodation and enjoyment of the
Members of the Club and their invited guests. Guests of a Member may be entertained at the
Club only when accompanied by the Member who invited such guest. The conduct and behavior
of guests are the responsibility of the Member host. A Member shall not introduce as a guest of
any person who has been suspended or expelled from the Club unless such person has been
reinstated or his record is so clear so as to make him eligible for reinstatement. Unescorted
guests shall not be left at the pool, tennis courts or clubhouse.
15. Neither the Club, its directors, officers or employees shall be liable for any injuries to person or
damage to or loss of property involving Members, guests or other persons on the Club premises.
Each Member agrees to indemnify and hold Club, the Board, its officers and employees harmless
from and against any and all claims made by their guests or invitee as a result of any personal
injury, damage to or loss of property occurring on the Club premises not proximately caused by
the gross negligence or willful or wanton conduct of the Club’s employees.
16. The Club’s bulletin board and other areas of the Club premises shall not be utilized for posting of
notices without the prior written approval of the Swim and Tennis Director.
17. A member desiring to give a private party at the clubhouse or pool shall file a written request with
the Grande View Information Center and pay a rental fee and post a security deposit in the
amount required by the club.
18. Club property removed, damaged or destroyed by a member of member’s guest will be charged
to such member. An inspection checklist must be signed by the Member before and after renting
the clubhouse or pool. The Club is not responsible for any private property belonging to a
Member, any Member’s children or any Member’s guest.
19. Smoking is strictly prohibited in all areas of the Club’s property.
20. No member shall allow any non-member to utilize the pool, tennis courts or any other portions of
the Club property unless such use by such non-member is (a) as a guest of such Member (and
such Member accompanies such non-member guest during such usage of the Club property or
facilities’) or (b) approved by the Swim and Tennis Director of the Board of Directors for the Club.
THE FOREGOING RULES & REGULATIONS WERE ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CLUB ON JUNE 1, 2000.

children must be accompanied in the water by their parent or adult guardian. Pool toys
such as balls, water guns, rings, air mattresses, etc. are permitted at the discretion of the Swim &
Tennis Manager dependent on the number of people in the pool and the manner in which the toys
are used. Tire inner tubes are NOT permitted. Any toys or towels left at the pool will be discarded.
